I just ran across these message boards, so thought i would join up.  I did the master cleanse this time last year for 10 days.   It was very successful and I felt great afterworse.   So it is that time again,  close to the end of day 3 and going strong.  Of course this day is harder than day 1 and 2 but I am hoping tomorrow will start the downhill part of it where it gets easier.

I am doing this to cleanse my body again and it is more of a spiritual cleanse this time than last year, but I don't mind losing weight either, I gone a little weight over the last few months due to several family crises.

Anyway I have lost 6.5 pounds in two days, but I know that is water weight of course,  now to lose some fat and of course some muscle.  But I can get the muscle back.

You should NOT lose muscle mass on this cleanse. As Burroughs says in his booklet: "REMEMBER, the only things you can possibly lose are mucus, waste and disease. Healthy tissue will not be eliminated."

Starting day 5,  8 pounds total loss so far.   But I had a lot of water retention when I started,  but  when I did the MC last year I lost 16 pound and kept off all 10 pounds for several months but then had some serious family crises so gained 15 pounds since January.   I really want to get back in the 140's so I m doing this to lose weight and of course detox my system.

I have no side effects this time, probably because I eat a Vegan diet most of the time with dairy occasionally,   and I gave up caffeine after the first cleanse.

Today is day 5 since I started and my mistake I have not been on the scale until yesterday. I actually lost 2lbs when I weight this morning! So my goal is another 5 days. I am doing great so far. Good luck to everyone for whatever reason you're on this MC.!!

Well half way through day 5 and going strong.   It has its rough spots but I have been hanging tight, no food at all.   I drink about 6 of the juices a day but today so calories are under 7 hundred but still have enough energy.

9 pounds down which I am thrilled.   I am hoping for 17 pounds which will put me at 154 pounds.  I am 5'8 so that is a good weight for me, but my goal is to get back down to 145 by the beginning of winter.  I can do it I just have to keep my calories around 1300 after the cleanse is over.

I am a Vegan/Vegeterian so it is really hard to lose weight when you eat beans and rice for your staples.  Everyone things Vegetarians are skinny but that is not true.   It is much easier to stay thin eating Chicken breasts and veggies than beans and veggies.   But I wouldn't change this lifestyle for anything.     The primary reason I did this cleanse last year was to clean my body and I want to do it once a year.

Good luck to everyone

Thanks  ShivprR

Yeah, I totally understand the weight gain.   I have had some terrible things happen in my family just unbelievable the deaths and it has really taken a toll on me,  I am a compulsive eater so not surprising I gained 15 pounds since January.   And I already had picked up 5 to 7 pounds when I went back to school last fall,  so lots of work to do after the cleanse, I still will have about 7 more pounds to get off I am estimating not to mention keeping off the weight loss from the cleanse.  I have no doubt I will gain a few pounds back in water weight but determined to get that off in fat too.

Good luck to you this go around,  Hold tight, it is only 10 days and we can do it.  Food will always be there, it is not going anywhere.

I am starting Day ONE on the MC. I have never done this before...
I had my little girl back in October last year, the pregnancy was very difficult and I was on a lot of meds during and after the pregnancy. I also put in the MIRENA IUD and it was the most awful experience ever. I gained 40 pounds in 6 MONTHS! I just recently had it taken out and wanted to do the MC to cleanse my body and get a fresh start.
I am doing the laxative teas, bc the SWF seems impossible. I have alot of water weight right now, do you think it would be better to muscle through it and do the SWF's instead of the laxative tea???

If anyone has any tips that would be great too. I also wonder do people have trouble sleeping while doing MC, or is the opposite and everyone sleeps like a baby???

Hopefully more people will post considering the last one was 8/24.

Anyway today is my first day on the MC. I spent the last 3 weeks researching this cleanse and trying to prepare myself for it mentally.

My reasons for doing the cleanse is to get my body ready for a new organic lifestyle. Overall yes I'de like to lose weight , however im not using the MC as a diet. This is just to rid my body of all the bad foods over the years and to start fresh.

I did however weigh myself this morning , but I wont be weighing myself again until I finish all 20 days of the cleanse.

20 days is my goal and im sure I'll be able to stick to it.

So here's what I've done so far.

Last night right before bed I drank a cup of Senna tea..which is a natural laxative tea.

This morning when I woke up I drank the 1 quart of the SWF. It didnt taste bad at all and I did head into the bathroom about 45 mins later.

At first my BM was solid and then it literally felt like my behind was going # 1 lol  I have had 2 BM's so far which according to my research im on point. Having 2 or more movements.

Again the 2nd time was more like going #1 than #2 nothing solid. Its a weird sensation really.

So far I've had 3 glasses of the drink and 1 glass of water.

Im not really hungry for food...chinese has been popping in and out of my head a few times today but other than that i havent been tempted to eat and I dont feel like im hungry. Just having the small chinese craving.

I'll keep you all updated on my progress!

No cravings for food yet, although I did have some strange dreams last night..Anyways still going strong...Here are the measurements I am using..60oz Lemonade formula " about six glasses a day which is the minimum" 3/4 cup lemon..1/4 cup plus 2tbsp grade B syrup"which is also the minimum"....1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper..6 cups of water...I make this in the morning and it lasts me the day... For the SWF I use 4 cups water 2 Tsp. uniodized salt. Any questions? just ask...

Ok so its day 4 and still going strong.  I changed up the way I drink the SWF instead of gulping it down... I switched to using a wide straw and it has helped a lot.  I am down 6.6lbs and  feel great.  I continue to use the tea at night and the SWF in the morning measuring everything out meticulously.  The two go hand in hand.  I am still making 60oz of the lemonade in the morning..which lasts me the day, again measuring everything to the T.  Today I noticed a change in my movements-let me put it this way the cleanse is def. working...good luck people 4days down 16 to go..

Kunrchtime...impressive.  How much body weight have you lost?  I have done the Cleanse in the past and was able to maintain a level of fitness to match the cleanse.  I am "readying" myself to start another one...in a day or so...but I have a different mind-set this time.

I was hoping to find a support channel... so far you are the most current.

I will follow your comments.

RueBear registered on 08/23/09 but only posted once and that was on 09/03/09, so it's only been 12 or 13 days.

She did promise to keep us updated, so we'll just have to wait and see.

Well today was day 8..Still going strong..I feel great..the best Ive felt in a long time..I feel very light and airy inside and out..especially inside..Anyways incredibly I have not been hungry once on the cleanse.. it is quite strange..cravings yes but never hungry/starving,,Anyone who is thinking about doing this should..still solid matter in my BM which is insane considering no solid food in 8days.. Any ways my weight loss has seemed to slow which is fine..I am down 10lbs in 8 days..I  have officially decided that I am going to end my cleanse at day 10 with three days of easing out.. I could def. do the 20 days but amazingly I have achieved the benefits I was looking for,,, Which are increased energy, a want to eat healthy foods, I can not wait to eat salads fresh fruit etc. all organic..and a  jump start to my weight loss..which I will continue with a proper diet along with cardio and weight training,,And maybe best of all I have no cravings for cigarettes..which is crazy! well there is my update hope all are doing well.. keep it going...

Day 9.. same as all the rest..which is good.. Tomorrow will be my last day.  I will do the same routine SWF-Lemonade-Tea at night.. and do one last SWF on the morning of the 11th day.  At which point I will be drinking organic OJ with pulp for day 1..day 2 veggie soup broth/some veggie..day 3 veggie soup/with veggies.. Now maybe some can help here.. why cant I  find an official soup for coming off the cleanse?  I have one in mind but have not found one that is official..the book doesn't explain this too well..Down 11 lbs.

Here's my favorite recipe...

When I come off the lemonade diet I make a vegetable soup with a good combination of legumes (kidneys, limas, black beans, lentil beans, string beans and green peas) along with other vegetables such as corn, diced tomatoes, broccoli, carrots, potatoes and zucchini. My secret is starting with a broth made from water, a medium onion, three or four stalks of celery, a whole (preferably organic) head of cabbage, all chopped fine and cooked for an hour or more. Before I add all the veges (some are canned or frozen) to this broth, I add a 2nd head of cabbage (chopped coarsely) and simmer it well. Just before serving I add a bit Braggs Aminos and extra virgin olive oil. I use organic veggies as much as possible and practical.

Cabbage is relatively high in fiber and it is one of the most cleansing of all vegetable foods. You can make this soup in 10 quart batches and freeze some of it in 1 gallon freezer bags, it keeps well in the freezer, and is convenient to have on hand. I regularly eat this soup; two or three times a week. It really keeps my bowels regular.

The salt water is making me sick. This day four of my diet(i'm so proud of  my self!) but I have only had lose bowel movements and definitely not a flush. I am taking the herbal tea at night and the salt water in the morning on a empty stomach. I'm using the celtic salt and 1 to 2 teaspoons. Yesterday I threw up the salt water as soon as I took. I gave it another shot today, I took it the way vegeman suggested in another article, I took it like a shot with 2 teasppons and a few oz of water then chased it down with probably 16 oz more.. I would have immediately threw up if I took more than that. I tried hard to keep it down, I layed on my right side and dealt with the pain and then I threw up very harshly. I will not take the salt water flush ever again!! Last night, however, I took the herbal laxative with 3 bags instead of one and it worked.. I could hear and feel it working but still no flush just liquid stuff and a couple of small solids. I know that there are probably all types of toxin and mucous wrapped around my body and I want to see them come out. I'm not sure if I lost weight either, even if I did it would probably only be water weight, right?

More than an emotional journey, many cleansers have a spiritual experience. See the posts in this thread, click on: The Spiritual aspects of the MC...

Thank you for the link. Its very interesting reading.
I m actually most interested in the emotional and spiritual journey that I ll go through while on the cleanse.
I find it extremely important to look after my body and feed it good food and good thoughts and I ve decided to watch my thought process during the time of the cleanse as well as choosing good positive company( people I work with,friends....) and surrounding (organizing my apartment and letting go of anything that doesnt serve me,spending time in nature and silence ,listening to beautiful music, watching positive movies ...) and  simplifying my life. I ll be journaling  and sharing my experience with others. I m really excited for the experience.
