Bluness, I have read that you are not supposed to take the SWF at night! And the correct measures are 1 quart of lukewarm water and 2 level teaspoons.

I have been having the same bm problem as you have... but I think maybe I have the wrong tea and that might be it...and I havent taken the SWF every morning. But I am mostly in it for the weightloss part and I have still lost great weight so... I am not that worried.

Hey,  what day are you on?  I can't do the SWF in the am cause I have to be at work and drop all the kids off.  It just works better for me in the pm.  I will try the SWF again tonight.  But I am thinking of drinking the tea today at work to start the elimination process.  I have dropped 2 pounds in two days...but I am looking for a whole lot more!!

I am on day 4 now. And as of this morning I have lost 6.4lbs! =)
I have to go to school each morning as well..so I am afraid that the SWF will kick in a little late.. that would be awful. But yesterday I had my alarm set at like 6am and woke up to drink the SWF and then went back to sleep for another hour. haha

Maybe I can try that.  It would have to be like 4 am cause I get up at 6 and out the door by 7....a 30 minute drive, so I wouldn't want any surprises...congrats on the 6.4 pounds...thats fantastic.

I am on Day 3. Is anyone else having cotton mouth issues? Yuck!! Anyway...I woke this morning to find out that I lost another pound. I am starting to feel better and the headache that I have had for two days is starting to ease up. I hope everyone else is hanging in there!

I have horrible cotton mouth...i just drink sips of water to help...I brush my teeth more too.  Good luck...keep it up!!!

Starting my second MC tomorrow with the additon of the P&B shakes.  The web site by Larry Clapp says to prepare these shakes with 6 oz. of the lemonade.  Does it matter if you use the lemonade or water?

Hello all!

I am coming to the end of my 10 day cleanse, starting at midnight on New Years Eve 2008.

My starting weight was 168 pounds. I am currently on Day 9, and am at 156 pounds! I feel GREAT, my skin in glowing, and I'm full of energy.

Since my first cleanse one year ago, I have lost around 40 pounds. Wow - just writing that is crazy.

Hello All !! This is my first day on the cleanse and I have been reading all of your posts !! I really want to lose weight as well as cleanse. I am having some rouble with being hungry.It is hard to cook dinner for the family and smell all the smells and not eat anything  !! When will the hunger go away ??? I started my cleanse on sunday.  I have been fighting a cold, so I took some motrin on Monday for a fever.  I think i should start over.   I feel good though.  I officially have not eaten anthing since Sunday.  I find it really hard at night to fix food for my daughter and not want to eat a small morsel.  Tonight was tough.  I drank some more lemondade and continued to fix dinner.  This is my 1st cleanse, so i wanted to do the bare minimum, but after reading  some of the comments, I think I can go for at least 20 days. I have found that I only have 1 BM a day though.  Am i doing something wrong and what should I do to correct it?  To keep my goals in mind, I posted a picture of what I used to look like on my dresser and the refrigerator to keep me focused.  Here I go for my goal.

Well,i decided to see where I am after 3 days and I am down 5lbs.  I am siked!!!.  I have only been having 1 BM a day, so maybe I will loose more when the BM's increase.  I will begin SWF in am because of loose bowels.  Congrats, to everyone else on your wt loss thus far.  Lets keep our eyes on the price.

Just weighed in, and yay! Somehow I have shed another 2 pounds overnight! I am so amazed!

Hi all! Day 12 and feeling wonderful - really. the heaviness in my legs is all but gone, my joints barely noticeable and, unlike previous MC's, I am not "spacey" at this point, but able to function perfectly (well, as perfectly as I am able!). I've lost 15 pounds and 12 inches!
Last time I had trouble with tooth and gum sensitivity and this time I'm rinsing my mouth after every lemonade; it's helping, as there is no discomfort. COOL! I appreciate this "check-in" place, THANKS, all.
I intend to keep checking with myself every morning and see if it's time to ease off, so far, though, it's full speed ahead with the fast. We'll see.....

Hi there,

I'm a newbie.  I've been doing the MC since last Sunday, so I'm on day 5.  I weighed myself this morning.  NOTHING.  I've lost nothing.

I am following the cleanse to a 'T'.  Drinking the lemonade, doing the SWF every morning.  The only liquid besides the MC I've had is peppermint tea and water.

I go to the gym and workout, doing 2-3 miles on the treadmill and light weights, etc.  Did this Mon, Tues, and Wed of this week.

Is it normal for some people to hold onto the weight for a while, and then lose?  Should I persevere 5 or more days?

I'm 160 and trying to get down to 145.

Thanks for the tip BluNess. I have been brushing my teeth like crazy too. I am so happy to have all of you. It is hard doing this alone so when I come here and read everyone's posts it's very motivational. I look forward to reading updates and am cheering for every single one of you!  =) I am on Day 4 and I have lost another pound and a half. I also feel healthier.

Good Morning everyone!!! Day 3 today I got on the scale and I am the same weight as I was yesterday, I didn't loose anything??? Is that normal for the 3rd day? Yesterday I had lost 4lbs in 1 day.

DJ2424, maybe your body is working out too hard and is trying to preserve the water etc. because of the amount of demands from the exercise!? I would skip the heavy workouts and maybe just walk for 30 minutes for a couple days to see if it changes. After your body realizes you aren't starving it and have cut back the physical demands you can go back to a more rigourous workout. Remember when we eliminate food, the body goes into a bit of shock and at first may think you are starving it so it will reserve water, fats, etc. for energy.

Hope this helps. I wouldn't give up yet, just adjust the workout load.

Thanks Irishgirl.

I am suspecting as you stated regarding the workout routine.  I suppose my body is trying to hold onto the stored fat.  I thought the cardio however would speed up the metabolism.  The weights however, add to building muscle, and muscle weighs more than fat, therefore, I could not be losing because of that as well however overall, I'm toning up.  I haven't been in the gym for 4 weeks, and I just went back last week.  Therefore, the muscles are not as taut as they usually are and are making a comeback do to the weights at the gym.  I'll take it easy the next few days at the gym. 

I feel good though, so that must count for something.

Today is the beginning of my third day, I have lost 5 pounds so far. I am really excited. I was feeling so terrible the first and second day. Today I had a little headache, but what affected me the worst was the SWF. I gagged it all up today, my stomach just couldn't handle all that salt. But of course it still did it's job. I can't wait to lose more, I have been extremely tired, but I am going to add a light workout to my cleanse and well. I am going for 21 days Good luck to everyone!

Today is day 4. I was doing so well, but today I was a wuus.  The cravings started and i could not control them with drinking more lemonade or adding more maple syrup to it.  I crashed and burned.  I glad I made it through 3 days but my goals met a short coming.  I will begin anew tomorrow with a renewed sense of my goals.  Hope everyone is doing well. 

PS.  What can you do to control the cravings?  They are so strong.

JAWS.. . . i too fell through and had to start over but i think now . . . . i am remembering the feeling RIGHT after i ate and how incredibly disappointed i felt with myself. . .oh! and also  a lot of the times (if you can) i get cravings and IMMEDIATELY sign on to the message board and read how everyone is losing and it pushes me past the hunger pains!

i also read that someone had put a pic on their fridge.
i have a foam cup i wrote some encouraging words on. ' think of how you will feel when they see you' (im going home in 14 days!!!)

I am so proud of myself of hanging in there! And it gets so much easier along the way, I definelty think I could do this for 15 days! That is my goal!

I have lost another 1.6pounds ( 0.7kg) since yesterday!!!

So far I have lost 10 pounds!!!!!!! ( 4.6kg! )

I am loving it!

Today is day 1 AGAIN.  I'm disappointed in myself. I know that I am weak when it comes to discipline regarding my cravings.   I made it through 3 days.  I plan on getting through tough day #4 and continuing onto my goals.  Good luck everyone.  And congrats for all the weight lost this far.

To the person asking if it is SAFE to do while nursing.. the answer is NO!
Everything I have read says not to........Just try to eat helathy while you nurse and drink plenty of fluids to have pelnty of milk for your baby. Nursing goes by real fast, wait til your little one is weaned....Im sure your pediatrician will have more answers for you.


Now I have been on this MC for 4 days today  lost 5 lbs!!! 3 the first day.But today day 4 weight the same as yesterday.I feel real good, no cravings, plenty of energy, no headaches.Wondering how "toxic" I really am? LOL..
no SWF for me, forget that, but did do the tea the second day (Smooth Move) OMG!! Glad I was home, I drank it at 1:30 Pm and had to gooooo by 3:30 but not much  still had urgent urge though!

I have a Charity "Crab feed" to go to Sat nite, for the local Fire Department.. I know I am going to eat some,(lets be reasonable here) but not gorge,,, it is salad Crab, bread and fruit, (of course  "no Host" cocktails, havent made my mind up on that one yt, maybe one)I have great self control so this way of eating or "cleanseing" has been easy.I have to cook for hubby and 3 kids too!I must admit it does smell ggreat (Im a great cook) But this aint my first Rodeo! I want to lose about 10 lbs, was wanting 15 but already lost 5.I gained 15 lbs over the Holidays, havent done that in 7 years.I hate it when my pants are tight around the waist! Yuck!

I am sick of lemons though.. I have 3 trees, thank goodnesss they arent cheap in the store, Im sure not as good as mine..
Limes are too hard to juice and dont have much either.
Glad to see soo many doing well, jsut hang in, if you eat  just start over.Do it one day at a time , you will succeed..

Morning of Day 6.

Looks like the scale moved down 2 pounds.  In any case, I'm sticking with it to see if I'll get better results soon.  I feel like I've lost weight.  Maybe the scale is lying?   Pasty mouth sucks though...yuck.

To the ones who post about food.  Yeah, I have my moments as well.  I try and stay away from the kitchen as much as possible.  If someone is eating around me, I go for a walk or to another room.  The hardest is at work when lunch time occurs....people are nuking their lunches and the smells entice me.  I try and schedule my gym time around then.  Watching TV?  MUTE the commercials with the remote.  I find the restaurant/food commercials also entice me to think too much about food.

Hello everyone! Congrats to all of you for losing, sticking with it and starting over after a fall. I am having a bit of a rough time today, feeling tired...no, lethargic, slight headache and heaviness all over. I lost another pound but I am not really doing much in the way of activity. I think the body is working overtime to adjust to the elimination phase and requires rest. Looking forward to more energy and enthusiasm.
 
I had to turn the tv off because I usually watch the food network. I couldn't deal with Paula Deen stuffing her face with chicken and mozzerella. Even while trying to nap, I could hear her describing how good it tasted.
I'll watch Dr. G, Medical Examiner next time to help curb the appetite
 
Rosie, I think you'll find plenty of support here and any number of folks willing to be a buddy. Good Luck!

lol, I too watch Foodnetwork.I can do it but it is torture... I wonder what Paula's HDL and LDL are??

On another note... hemooroids... ooh, well with out bulk you can get them prtetty bad or they can be mad at you if you have them already(like me) but sticking to it, have a lot of Prep H on hand.....


I have lost 5 lbs as of today day 4.....Thinking about food more today than yesterday.. but Ill make it...

yesterday i struggled SO much to drink the lemondae i found myself holding my breath while i gulped it down. . .. and i hear of people saying that theirs taste so good . . .im like how is this good with the pepper???? then i read dietgurus suggestion of making it ice cold  . .. .WOW! WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! im actually drinking it without having to dread the next cup.

Weightloss slowing down a bit now, but didnt really expect anything else.

Lost 1 pound (0.5kg) since yesterday!

Well heading off o work.  I find it much easier to stay on the plan while I  am at work.  I only have enough time to catch a drink of water let alone sit down and eat.  And this is for 12hours straight.  So I know that I will have 2 more good days ahead of me.  Starting over is tough.  The hunger pains seem to be stronger this time than when i originally started.  Hope everyone is doing well today.  Look forward to hearing your comments. This is my first time MC and I'm having some trouble.  I started on 1/8/2008 so I've been on the MC for almost 6 days.  When I first started I lost 2lbs on the first day.  The second day I lost 1lb. On the third day nothing happen.  Now I have been following the diet just as it is written, but I started my cycle and on the 4th day I gained 6lbs. What the ?.  I'm so upset and I'm wondering if I should just stop and think about doing this at some other time.  Have this happen to anyone else?  Please I'm asking for someone to give me the information that I need to keep going. Trust me I haven't cheated I have followed the plan, but I'm gaining weight.. This isn't fair......

Morning of day 8!

Weightloss has slowed down alot now...
Lost 0.5 pound (0.2kg) since yesterday.

So far I have lost 11.5 pounds ( 5.3kg ).




phatandfab: Do not worry about the 6lbs, it is just water retaining!! It is completely normal for your body to retain water when on your cycle. That will come off after you are done. If you just hang in there the results will probably be worth it. It is impossible to gain 6lbs of fat overnight Stay strong!

Down 4lbs from my slip and fall.  Doing well.  Hunger pains have not yet stopped but are slowing down.  Too busy at work to think about the pains much anyway.  The SWF is difficult to get down. Definitely a REQUIRED taste but is getting easier. Talk to you all soon.

Gerri, Good for you.  I'm rooting for you.  My first day was the hardest so once you get passed that day everything else is smooth sailing.  Atleast that's how it was for me.  Although I still haven't lost weight and I'm on day 6, but thanks to faith27, vegeman and konstantine for their words of encouragement I'm still in the game.  So don't worry you will have support.

Day 3 starting out with a boom.  Lots of energy after working 16 hrs yesterday, and another 16 to go today.  I feel pretty good, not hungry or craving anything.  I weighed last night when I got home and was down 4.4lbs.  Pretty good start!
