If you want to try the Cleanse, it's probably going to be okay if you make sure to drink plenty of the lemonade. If you could get your doctor to supervise you, that would be even better, but I know how doctors are. :/

Once I got in the habit of drinking one glass every hour, whether I wanted it or not, I had no trouble with hypoglycemia symptoms.

I also had to adjust the amount of maple syrup --- I used slightly less than 2 tablespoons per drink; more like 1 1/2 tablespoons, and did much better. Which seems counter-intuitive, but the higher amount of syrup made my blood sugar harder to control.

If you have, or can get, a blood glucose monitor, that's a great way to keep track of how the drink is affecting your blood sugar levels, and it can help you monitor yourself. I used mine once an hour for the first five days of my second cleanse, until I learned exactly what the symptoms of "I need to drink some more lemonade" felt like.

My hypoglycemia was much easier to control after my cleanses than before. I can even indulge in the occasional sugary treat without adverse effects, now!

I agree completely with Editormum. As long as I drink the lemonade each hour then I am OK. If I get to two hours then I am feeling pretty ill. Only one morning have I awoke to feeling dizzy. Then I drank a lemonade and was fine.

One thing to keep in mind is that you can give it a try and then if it doesn't work with your hypo. you can go off of the fast. But, you won't know if it will work unless you try.

I did have some issues on it, but not like I thought. and I too thought it helped regulate it.
BUT here's what I did on the third cleanse that helped me get through the day:
I drank 1 tablespoon of mollassis in a large cup of water in the late afternoon. not only did it make me feel full, it calmed me down.
I noticed I would start feeling wacky in the late afternoon and really hungry.
so I started doing this and it helped.
Going on walkes and getting fresh air is really important.
drinking your lemonade slowly and consistenly helps.

I have much less ups and downs than I do when I am eating normally.
Just as with regular eating, just make sure that you start to drink a lemonade as soon as you start to feel hungry or low on blood sugar. Don't wait too long. Also I found that sipping slowly throughout the day was helpful, as opposed to downing a full glass at once.

Hope this helps.

Thanks vegemanfor sharing the experiences  they were very helpful.this is my 3rd cleanse but the first two i didnt know i was hypoglycemic and it went well. this time i know it and so i am trying with molasses, it is my 4th day today and i was a little bit light headed, i thought maybe the molasses caused it. i will try to drink more often as everyone suggested, i was doing every 2 hours but will go for every hour instead now. thanks again

Hi..

I did this cleanse successfully in April.. then it was weird. I have hypoglymicia- I wa fine on cleanse I had not had sugar for 2 yrs prior.
After this cleanse I craved sugar like crazy.. a total addict. I tried this cleanse twice since and failed... HELP!!!!  anyone else crave sugar??
I have been non stop eating sugar since.. crazy amounts.... so bizarre.. I want to attempt again but worried I am messing up my system with trying for 3 days then stopping... then redoing... anyone else ??  Thank you in advance for your comments... I was very healthy eater and never had wheat or sugar... since this both re entered my life... so tough now!

This would be unusual...unless you didn't go the full 10 days or break off properly. Sugar cravings (and almost all food cravings for that matter) should cease when the proper balance is restored to the body. That usually happens within 10 days on the cleanse; for some perhaps a bit longer.

Thanks vegeman... Thinking about it I did the 10 day to a T... then did not come out as I should of. I lent my book to a friend and did not read the ending and just dived into food.. My demise!! The sugar was hard for me to quit 2 yrs ago.. an addict I am. So back to square 1 I go... in your opinion- how long between messing up this cleanse is ok? I have tried it off and on for a few months... tried for 2 days then ate ice cream... etc// I have not jumped in truthfully and wholeheartedly - was concerned maybe I am messing my system up///
Would love to give it a proper go and correct exit... I did feel incrediable after day 10.

What do you think?

Lolla... very cool you are answering me!!!

Since people have done this cleanse up to 40 days and beyond you can safely repeat cleanses whenever you want. I typically do two to three 14 day cleanses a year with three day mini-cleanses in between whenever I feel I need them. Everyone's body, lifestyle and dietary habits are different and they should adjust their cleansing schedule to their greatest benefit. Mini-cleanses 3 - 5 days long will generally restore your health and get you back on track in between the longer cleanses if you feel you might be slightly toxic or have had an overindulgent weekend. Whereas 10 - 14 day cleanses will give most people a deep cleaning, unless they are extremely toxic or obese.
