Hi all,
I am new here, and new to the MC. In July, dh and I did a 13-day MC, stopped for a couple of weeks, and started again Monday. We are on day 5, and started the P&B shake this morning.
My question is about the water intake:
The lemonade is considered a "clear liquid", if I've read that correctly. Does that then mean the 6-12 glasses of lemonade count towards the recommended "half-of-your-body-weight-in-ounces" of water? Or is that in addition to the lemonade? For now, I am trying to do it additionally, but am finding it hard to fit all these drinks.
TIA,
Nadja

It is very important to stay hydrated with plenty of water in addition to the lemonade as the P&Bs tend to dehydrate and can cause all sorts of bowel problems if not enough liquid is taken. When cleansing I found it best to do the P&B Shakes for 3 days and then take three days off and then 3 back on again, at least that has been my experience.
I hope this helps.

thank you. One more questions, if I may:
I've been either squeezing my lemons or blending them. it takes half a lemon per drink when squeezing it, so I just blend half a lemon per drink. Given that I will (obviously) have some pulp mixed in with the juice when blending, do I need to change the amount of lemon "juice" in my lemonade?
TIA

The addition of the pulp should not change the amount of liquid substantially, I'd say you'll be just fine doing it that way. The only precaution is to make sure you have organic lemons.
Here's what Burroughs has to say in his MC booklet concerning lemons and the addition of their pulp...
Quote: Blend a part of the lemon skin and pulp with the lemonade in a blender for further cleansing and laxative effect. (Note: commercially procured lemons may have had their skins dyed with yellow coloring and may have been subjected to poisonous insect sprays - be sure to peel off the outer skin if you cannot get uncolored, organically grown lemons.) The properties in the lemon skin also act as a hemostatic to prevent excess bleeding and to prevent clotting internally should there be any such prevailing condition. (Don't worry - normal conditions will continue during the menstrual periods.)
