Happy Holidays Everyone!!!

I have been planning to do another MC fast for a long time.  The last cleanse I did was in 2008 and I went 40 days!  Quite an experience... lost 35 lbs and then I don't really know when, the weight started creeping up again.
I really want to master the lifestyle changes this time. As part of my journey this time I will be really embracing the body image and emotional components of eating.

When I started 5 days ago I really thought, for sure I will do a 40 days...But maybe I will do shorter & sequential fasts. Like 4 ten days fasts, with a week in between.

What I truly do know, is I intend to be 70 lbs lighter in 2012.   Besides the fact, that I am so tired of this old yo-yo thing, I also am a healer who wants to really walk the talk about wellness for her clients.

I look forward to this journey with all of you doing the MC this coming year!

Day 7

Thankyou Vegeman

I have read all those articles but will be sure to go through them again. They are all very insightful and the input is fantastic. The "Time for Change,Spiritual Aspects of MC article is amazing in particular. And I have definitely know it to be true in all my journeys with cleansing and fasting. And spiritual growth is often seen as a purifying the mind and emotions

Day 7, doing real good energy wise. I have been eliminating daily, what looks like, mucus strains, for about 5 days.
However, not doing well with swf,. I sometimes substitute enemas. Every nite I am doing the detox tea, should probably do the tea closer to when I go to sleep however   I am not fond of the cramping..and maybe tonight I will drink a couple of glasses of water before I have the tea.

Haven't weighed in, but from my accessments from clothes I would say I down about 7-10lbs.  Lost a couple inches off waist and thighs. I will go into the gym tomorrow and weigh in.

I am fortunate because because of the work I do, that I can add other healing protocols into my routine...

Today, I did time in my infrared sauna with a particular essential oil blend to work on lymphatic drainage & circulation. Then I took a mud, apple cider vinegar bath and finally I focused time on my face, chest, shoulders and upper arms with my massage equipment....to open up more lymphatic drainage in the upper body.

I will check out your detox bath soon!.

You've probably read the following post, but just in case you haven't, I'll link it here: Concerns about the SWF & some tips...

Burroughs did not believe in enemas, as he writes in the Master Cleanser Booklet: "Do not take enemas or colonics at any time during the cleansing diet or afterwards. They are unnecessary and can be extremely harmful. There is a much superior method of cleansing the colonic tract with- out the harmful effects of customary colonics and enemas." I have a friend who has diverticulosis and ruptured his bowel while taking an herbal enema; for someone with diverticulitis they can be particularly dangerous. Even for a healthy person they can cause the bowel to "balloon out" weakening the area and potentially causing problems later in life.

The cramping in the Herbal laxative tea is generally caused by the Senna herb. Many cleansers use "Smooth Move" and/or "Get Regular", two herbal laxative teas that contain additional ingredients to help buffer the Senna and ease discomfort and cramping. I find "Get Regular" to be a little milder than the "Smooth Move".

Hope this helps.

Thanks again for the info, I like both those product lines. I will probably get Smooth Move, after I finish up what I have now!

Your input about  Burroughs stand on enemas was duly noted. I appreciate that you are letting people know when they deviate from the MC protocol and that you are a super caring individual. You will not hear any more detail about enemas from me on this forum.

Nothing to be concerned with, regarding my health in this regards. I am a person who lived through one of the most "deadly" cancers for women, many years ago, and heard a lot of opinions and stories of what could or should happen to me because of "having it".  I am alive today because of my dominant mind set on the topic. Whereas dozens of people in my family line, are not.

Now moving into 2012, my dominant mind set now is I  have complete wellness on all levels. I choose to disengage from the past, and re-create right here and now.

I personally do not even want to focus on dis-ease, or healing, but rather Ease and Wellness.

So this current fast, beyond the cleansing and weight loss, is really a spiritual statement to my god/goddess cells about what is true, about this body. And how it is going to go for me and other in my world, if they so chose!

Thank you again for your large contribution to me and all the people on this forum.

Namaste, PJ

P.S.  I love the inspirations and clarity that emerge from a fast!!!!

Thanks for your kind words PJ and for sharing your super positive attitude. According to yoga philosophy, health and general wellbeing is promoted by focusing on those things that are right and true and the inherent regenerative power of the human body.

Many years ago I had a vinyl record and it had a scratch on it that annoyed me to all end. When I told my friend, he looked me straight in the eye and said something like; "that scratch is heard for only a fraction of a second, try listening to the rest of the music that is flawless." What he said I carry with me today as it is applicable to so many aspects and conditions of life.

Thank you for your positive contributions to this message board.

Haven't posted for awhile because I was caught up in some other stuff

To be complete about this fast...I went the 10 days successfully. And was down 13 lbs. After about 7 days, 6 lbs came back...I attribute that to water weight and a little more rice than I needed towards the end of the week.
I felt pretty happy about that. I probably would have detoxed more if I was more consistant with SWF & tea.

Most importantly, I really experienced a wonderful return to food. The first day just OJ, second day OJ and veggie soup. Third day I made a mexican seafood soup.
For about 5 days I retained a beautiful experience of extra sensations when eating. Everything just tasted and smelled better. And I made it a point to keep the lemon, cayenne water going in the morning and usually had what I call, oj soup( two little oranges blended with all pulp), with a little green powder, flax seeds and a pinch or honey pollen.  Then day 6 & 7 I had a bit of a relapse with chinese food. My conclusion, after I was done with that, the one meal was fine...repeating the second night was excessive.  Day 8 & 9 I tried going back to fasting, and got through until the evening.

I am now on day 6 of another fast ( Jan 12 ),getting ready to finish up tommorrow. I am feeling I will do several shorter fast this next two months. One week on, one week off.

That is it for now!  Happy New Years Everybody!

Hi well done for completing is it the two ten day fasts so far ??
Read you lost 13 then 10 1/2 !! well done x

I do understand though that a few pounds is water weight (which i am glad as i retain a loot of water naturally for some mad reason ))
but the rest surely can be kept off with the right diet afterwards and enough water intake ?? As mine i feel stayed off but i have upped my exercise and ate around or under 1800 cal a day ...x

Just a question though - how much weight has stayed off you ? Just curious as  i have about 16lb to loose minimum for a healthy bmi x

Hey Britishbabe:

I actually did  a 10 day and a 7 day fast!
Right now at my current weight today, it seems of the 17.5 lbs, I have lost 10 lbs...about 60% of the weight loss.  And as  I have mentioned before,I do not follow the MC  perfectly. And I am not going to make myself wrong about the way I am doing this.

These are my observations right now.
Today when I weighed in today, I was up 5 lbs!!!! which really freaked me out at first. I started in with the negativity and really had to lovingly pull myself away from that nasty chronic habit.... The truth is, I could go down naturally a couple lbs today.

So I started to inquire, kind of scientifically about what it could be?  I did not follow the suggested method of breaking a mc fast, this time.OK Totally get that. Was I allergic to something I ate yesterday and what was it? Did I simply eat to much which hasn't eliminated yet. Is my system needing some help with metabolism. Is it time to add in exercise again, how much? Could my body actually have converted some of the nutrients to muscle and other beneficial  functions
I tried on my clothes, which were still fitting as if I had "lost the weight" with a little less looseness in the tummy because of having food again.

So I don't have the exact reasons, yet but I did decide I would start to journel on some of these ideas... I do know it is a journey and I am willing to keep on it.

The biggest journey I am taking with this right now is my mental & emotional relationship with all of this.  Do I have the inner vision of a new healthy sexy beautiful body...Can I hold that vision. Can I keep my emotions positive...because emotions do impact chemistry and behavior Can I be ok with the journey with the ups and downs, and not give up.

And the bottom line after all this inner dialoque this morning is: Yes the weight loss and my general feeling of well being, is pretty fantastic.

Keep going Britishbabe, sounds like you are workn it well!
