I am currently on day 4 of the cleanse and have been following it to a T. On the evening of day 2 I noticed some light spotting, now on day 4 it is getting heavier. I am very regular with my cycle, I am on an oral contraceptive that I take every evening about 1/2 hour after I drink my tea right before bed. I am not due to have my period for 10 days from today. Why is this happening?

Since I'm a man I don't know how much I can help you with this one. I would suspect that since your period is a form of elimination the detox effect of this cleanse may have triggered it early.

I hope some of the women who have experience with this sort of thing will give you some feedback.

In the meantime I'd keep a positive attitude, and trust the body and the Master Cleanser to do what is best. REMEMBER, the only things you can possibly lose are mucus, waste, and disease. Healthy tissue will not be eliminated.

I am a woman, but may not be helpful, as I am not on the pill (which, keep in mind, is a way to trick your body into thinking it's pregnant). My period has changed every time that I've done the cleanse, but always regulated into a "normal" cycle soon after, just starting at the new time. So I tend to agree with Vegeman, but also think that perhaps your body may have extra power or need now to exact its "natural" cycle instead of the one you've regulated it into (if that makes any sense). Remember that the pill puts you on a solar calendar, but your period is lunar, so I would think that you should return to your old schedule by the next cycle round (unless you are doing 30-40 days in which case it should be after that.) I am no doctor, but I have known other women who this has happened to. Anyone else have more input than I?

I am a woman, not on the pill, and this also happened to me exactly. I think it's probably just something that happens to some people. It was the second/third day of the cleanse and I got my period a good week early, just like that. I don't really care though, so whatever.

I unfortunatly had the depo ( evil thing rrr)  and this time now i came off it due to weught gain/water weight rrr...... i didnt come on for 4 months and now im on for 3 outta the 4 weeks every month so it wouldnt bother me as i wouldnt notice lol but it can stop if it wants to ;-) x

But as a woman its the low calories / change in lifestyle and diet that can change/alter a period for any woman wether that be that it stops , lighter or  changes dates .
This is a very natural and  quite common thing for most dieters ./ sportswomen . Most will have very light/short cycles if they have them .
Think anorexics/bulemics have same problem of it stopping to .
This is a cleanse yes but same priciple as less cal intake. So when the cleanse stops you may get back to normal .
Or have a new cycle if weight loss maintains or continues on a greater loss journey ;-)
nothing to worry about just maybe a bit inconvenient till it gets back into the swing of things x
