I originally posted stating earlier this year that I would do a "spring cleaning" of my system however I only made it passed day one and then I quit. I was not in to so I did not finish the cleanse. I am back again and I am on day 7 and I am down 8 pounds and 2 inches. My goal is 20 days but we will see, as of right now I am doing great, I feel wonderful and positive about the whole cleanse.

I did not write about days 1-6 but days 1 - 6 were great, a small headache and a small tummy ache the first couple of days whenever I took the cayenne capsules but this all soon went away.

What I am doing:
Limes
Agave
Cayenne Capsules
Dieters Green Tea instead of Smooth Move, I am having much better results with the change.
Coconut water to replace electrolytes when I work out
Water- of course
Tea- every now and then

Another thing I have noticed, this would be my third cleanse and normally as I am drinking the "lemonade" my urine is clear or very very light yellow ( TMI I know but I am going somewhere with this) but this time I notice my urine is a darker yellow which is not normal for me on the cleanse. Maybe I am literally peeing out the fat..... I don't know...but  I am losing more weight, the last time I did the cleanse I lost 7 pounds in like 12 or 13 days but this time I am on day 7 and I have lost 8 pounds. I have exercised twice and also worked in the garage for 2 hours so maybe this has something to do with it. But I believe I was losing a pound a day even before exercising so we will see.

Anyway I feel great and I am going to exercise tomorrow morning to speed things along.

Until tomorrow.........

Hello all

I am a first time cleanser and have multiple reasons for doing it. I have gained more weight than I would like to admit this past year and have family history of diabetes etc so I definately want to get my heath back. Also, I am doing a 5k in september (The parkinsons superwalk) and want to get my body up to 100 percent to start effectively training without losing the results. My first day will be today when I get home from work but I am wondering if the cleanse is still effective without the SWF? I have a horrilbe gag reflex and even when I gargle salt water for a sore throatit makes me physically ill. Im sure I will be posting here alot in the next ten  days for support!! Anyone else just starting their first day?

Greetings Mellz andSmiley

The herbal laxative tea at night and the SWF in the morning work in conjunction with each other, the herbal laxative tea loosens and the salt water washes the nasty stuff out. Neither one by itself is quite as effective.

Stanley Burroughs says in his booklet; “It is quite advisable to take the herb laxative tea at night to loosen, then the salt water each morning to wash it out. If for some reason the salt water cannot be taken in the morning, then the herb laxative tea must be taken night and morning.”

Peter Glickman (modern day authority on the MC) comments: “However, I believe that (the herb laxative tea in the morning) isn’t as good as doing the salt water flush.”

After the first three days it generally gets much easier.

Mellz,

I am a first time cleanser too.   I am on day 9.  I had problems with the SWF until I found this board.  The only way I can do it is to mix the two teaspoons with 4-8 oz of water.  I shoot it quickly and then immediately follow with the rest of the quart of plain water.  It's still not pleasant for me, but I can at least tolerate it.  Another thing I read here was that there are different types of sea salt.  I could not find the Celtic type that others said were not as harsh tasting, nor can I verify that there are different flavors of sea salt.  Who knew there were sea salt connoisseurs out there?  Anyway, stay strong, the first two days were my worst, I was hungry and had horrible caffeine withdrawal headaches.  Now I not only cook for my family and it doesn't bother me, but I am considering extending it by a day or so, if I don't feel I am fully clean inside.   Best wishes for a successful cleanse.

There are three other names for sea salt that is harvested by traditional Celtic methods; Fleur de Sel, French sea salt and Grey sea salt. Here's a site that details quite a few varieties of salts, click on: Sea Salt & Gourmet Salts - Guide
